Assassin's Creed Reveals Bizarre Attack on Titan Collaboration for Holiday Season
In a unexpected partnership that defies usual expectations, Ubisoft has revealed an in-game partnership between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the acclaimed anime series Attack on Titan. The unusual Thanksgiving event operates from November 25 through December 22, providing free additional story content for Shadows players.
Strange Adventure Disclosed
According to the official release, "A mysterious confrontation pulls heroes Naoe and Yasuke into a fresh quest, where rumors of banned ceremonies and terrifying changes reverberate through the darkness." The plot introduces a "oddly garbed woman named Ada" who tasks the characters with traveling into the Crystalline Cavern—a important location from Attack on Titan—to rescue her ally from a hidden cult.
The mission focuses on "bizarre tests and a monstrous enemy" and is accessible to all players who have gained access to the Yasuke character.
Recognizable Places and Metamorphoses
The teaser showcases the Subterranean Sanctuary from Attack on Titan recreated as the Crystal Cave. This historic location was formerly where the Reiss royal family handed down the Founding Titan ability through generations. The teaser ends with a dramatic moment showing a character, presumably the prisoner, transforming into a Titan that towers over Naoe and Yasuke.
Unique Items and Extra Material
Players who accomplish the mission will obtain an special katana alongside multiple objects concealed throughout the area in concealed chests. The update also contains in-store Attack on Titan item packs, featuring:
- Titan-based costume for Yasuke
- Mikasa costume for Naoe
- Unique weapons
- Survey Corps steed
Newest Free Story Update
This release also brings the game's latest no-cost story content, titled "The Enigma." This humorous adventure partners Naoe and Yasuke as they swap distinctive techniques: Naoe reveals a theatrical interpretation of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke masters subduing stealth takedowns. Faithful to its name, "The Enigma" also contains a new environmental puzzle that may finally clarify some unanswered questions from the main storyline.

This marks scarcely the primary time the Assassin's Creed franchise has collaborated with popular anime series. The series formerly showcased a 2020 collaborative story connecting Assassin's Creed: Valhalla with Makoto Yukimura's Vinland Saga.
